Whether you’re planning a birthday celebration, an unforgettable bachelorette party, or an idyllic getaway for you and your closest girlfriend, Prince Edward Island is the perfect destination to have fun and make lasting memories

From vibrant city life and charming restaurants, to awe-inspiring beaches and lush fairways, PEI has something for every member of your circle. So, grab your girls, and get ready to make some memories – we’ve gathered some of our favourite things to do to make planning your girls’ getaway a breeze!

THINGS TO DO

Experience Culture in Charlottetown

In this historic capital city, arts and culture can be found around every corner. Visit the Confederation Centre of the Arts and see the exciting mix of contemporary and traditional exhibits in their Art Gallery or check out what’s playing at the Charlottetown Festival.

Head over to Florence Simmons Performance Hall to catch Anne & Gilbert: The Musical and watch PEI’s favourite redhead fall in love.

Walk through the Charlottetown Farmers Market, or the open air Downtown Farmers Market to find artisans and farmers selling their local goodies.

Tip: Plan your trip around one of PEI’s many cultural festivals to experience even more Island culture.

Road trip to Relaxation

What’s better than a mini roadtrip with your besties? In PEI’s case, the destination.

Less than an hour east of Charlottetown, you’ll find the dreamy Mysa Nordic Spa just in St. Peter’s Bay. Step into absolute bliss with their Thermal Experience, soothing spa treatments, and indulgent food choices.

If a traditional spa experience is more your style, you can book a group experience at Pure Spa in Charlottetown, or visit their seasonal location at Dalvay by the Sea.

It’s no secret that PEI offers some of the best beaches in the world, with many just a 30 minute drive outside of Charlottetown! Spend the day relaxing in the warm sun and sand, as the gentle waves of the Atlantic ocean soothe your soul. Basin Head, Lakeside, Thunder Cove, and Stanhope are just a few of our favorites.

Fancy a round of golf with your girls? With over 20 courses from tip to tip, you and your friends have your pick of the green. Mill River, Green Gables, and Crowbush are all Island favourites, each offering stunning views of lush greens and sparkling water.

Late Night Living

Whether you love to dance the night away, or slow sipping and toe-tappin’ are more your speed, there is a night scene with your vibe just waiting to be experienced.

You can find all kinds of live music to enjoy in Downtown Charlottetown. Stroll down Victoria Row where live performers play each afternoon and evening throughout the summer. Head up to the Olde Dublin Pub to enjoy the lively pub and musical stylings of performers on the famous Guinness Stage. Trailside Music Hall intimate venue hosts a wide range of bands and performers throughout the week.

Shake it off with the locals at Peake’s Quay Night Club. If you’re looking for variety, The Factory Downtown has two floors of music, so you can bounce between country classics or pop tunes. Baba’s Lounge is a small space, but hosts some of the best dance parties around.

WHERE TO EAT

Breakfast & Brunch

No girls’ weekend is complete without at least one brunch. If you’re looking for a cute resto with delicious food, look no further than Leonhard’s Cafe & Restaurant. The charming space will look great on your Instagram feed, and their eggs benny is to die for. Plus, they serve breakfast all. day. long.

For a bolder change of scenery, stop by the Salvador Dali Cafe! Their eccentric furniture and artwork make for a great photo op and their menu is sure to have something to satisfy every craving.

Casa Mia Cafe is a favourite in Charlottetown. If you’d prefer to venture outside the city, they also have a location in beautiful Victoria by the Sea! Sit on the patio overlooking the water, or in their dining room boasting the same water views.

Lunch

If you’re out and about exploring Charlottetown, stop into Founders’ Food Hall & Market! You can grab lunch from any one of their many food vendors, and sit with your pals on Charlottetown’s largest patio. When you’re finished, be sure to browse the shops inside to find locally made goodies.

Craving seafood? There are so many great places to grab a lobster roll, or an order of fish ‘n’ chips across the Island. Richard’s at Covehead Wharf is a favourite among locals and visitors, the Blue Mussel Café in North Rustico is absolutely delightful, and Point Prim Chowder House is a beloved hidden gem with oceanfront views.

Dinner

PEI is known as Canada’s Food Island because it is absolutely brimming with incredible restaurants full of local flavours.

Wrapped around Victoria Row & Sydney Street in Charlottetown, you’ll find so many incredible restaurants; Sea Rocket Oyster House, John Browns Grille, The Brickhouse Kitchen & Bar, and Sims Corner just to name a few. Vincinato Ristorante is new this summer, bringing authentic Italian dining to Victoria Row and will be home to Charlottetown’s only rooftop patio.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience to brag about, book a Fireworks Feast at the Inn at Bay Fortune and be enraptured by the four-hour long culinary affair. The Table Culinary Studio offers an open-concept dining experience, with 7 courses made of the freshest local ingredients. A drive up to Dalvay by the Sea for their famous High-Tea is sure to enchant you, and is a perfect excuse to dress up!

WHERE TO STAY

Charlottetown Hotels

Staying in the capital city keeps you close to nightlife, theatre, and shopping! You’ll also be centrally located if you want to hit the beach or go exploring. The Holman Grand is sophisticated and elegant, with city views that will make you swoon. You’ll fall in love with the urban and modern guest rooms at the Hotel on Pownal, your stay also comes with parking and breakfast so you have one less thing to plan! If you’re looking for a budget friendly option, The Arts Hotel is comfy, cozy, and full of colour and style.

Resort Living

Whether you’re coming to the Island for a golf experience, to explore, or just to kick back with your girls a stay at one of the PEI’s resorts is sure to be a restful and relaxing place to spend your downtime. The Gables of PEI has beautiful villas and suites to call home during your visit (some feature a private hot tub!) and is just moments away from four of PEI’s favourite golf courses and beaches. Up West, you’ll find Mill River Resort, boasting a challenging golf course, spa, aquatic centre, and restaurant and bar. You can stay in one of their beautifully decorated hotel rooms, or their tastefully designed chalets for the ultimate getaway.
