Places to Stay

PEI’s Pet Friendly Accommodations

Families! They come in many shapes and sizes. And luckily when you book your PEI family vacation, your whole family can look forward to Island adventures. We did some digging for you and found the best places to stay if you have dogs and cats in your clan.

Rodd Hotels & Resorts

Rodd Hotels & Resorts invite you to bring your pets for free to any of their Island properties: Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort, Rodd Brudenell River Resort, Rodd Charlottetown and Rodd Royalty. Not only are dogs and cats welcome, they have their own in-room amenities. Each Rodd property has designated floors for pet-friendly rooms. Be sure to review the pet policies and book a room on the pet floor prior to arrival.

Delta Prince Edward

Located on the Charlottetown waterfront, Delta Prince Edward allows dogs and cats with a flat fee of $50 per room. For more specifics on their policy or to book your stay, speak directly with reservations staff at the Delta Prince Edward.

Mill River Resort

The stunning Mill River Resort in O’Leary welcomes dogs and cats of any size and offers a handful of pet-friendly guest rooms for maximum comfort! With tons of activities and acres to explore, Mill River is sure to be a hit for the whole family. We highly recommend placing a call when booking your reservation to check for room availability and get the low-down on their pet policy.

The Hotel on Pownal

Travelling with your pup? The Hotel on Pownal is centrally located in downtown Charlottetown and is proudly pet-friendly! When booking your stay, give them a call and ask about their pet-friendly rooms!

The Gables of PEI

The Gables of PEI, is a resort community in Stanley Bridge with self-contained villas, homes and suites. Book early! There are a select number of dog-friendly units available, each with a $20 fee per dog per night fee. Sorry, no cats allowed at The Gables. And don’t forget the dog bed – no pooches are permitted on the furniture! Here’s more info on dogs at The Gables.

Dalvay By the Sea

Dalvay By the Sea is delighted to welcome your fur family to a select number of pet-friendly cottages.  There may be restrictions to dog size and breed, so speak with their reservations team and inform them of any pets at the time of booking. Dalvay By the Sea is unable to accommodate animals within the historic Inn and restaurant.

Marco Polo Land

Marco Polo Land has loved pets since way back. It has a blanket pet-friendly policy within the campground and cottages for no additional charge.  Rooms at the Inn charge a flat $50 fee per room, per stay.

Cavendish Country Inn & Cottages

Cavendish Country Inn & Cottages embrace your whole family – fur and all. Their $10 per pet, per night fee allows your creature the comfort of these cozy accommodations and sprawling vacation property. They ask that pets not be left unattended while you’re away – totally sensible! Check out their rules for Rover.

Holman Grand Hotel

The Holman Grand Hotel knows how hard it is to leave your pet behind. Stay here and you won’t have to! They permit dogs and cats for no additional charge provided a few guidelines are observed. Most notable is the limitation of two pets per room, each pet weighing less than 50lb.

Loyalist Country Inn & Conference Centre

Centrally located in Summerside, the Loyalist Country Inn & Conference Centre happily accepts your furry friends on the ground floor. Give them a call when you’re ready to book, and ask about their pet-friendly options!

Sundance Cottages

Sundance Cottages is a Cavendish vacation estate with a litter of self-contained cottages, each one pet-friendly! They have no restrictions on size or breed though they do charge a fee of $20 per pet, per night. Come, dogs! Come, cats! Come, birds! Seriously – a parrot vacationed here, Island style.

Lanes Riverhouse Inn & Cottages

Lanes Riverhouse Inn & Cottages accepts furry friends as guests in their cottages and pets are considered full-fledged occupants. The single and two-bedroom cottage rates are based on double occupancy and the 3-bedroom cottages are based on 4 occupants. You know what that means: you + Buster + Great Aunt Viola = three occupants.  No pets permitted in the hotel.

Swept Away Cottages

Swept Away Cottages prides itself on allowing pets! But their $20 fee per pet, per night doesn’t buy Boomer a seat on the sofa. Like most accommodations, no pets allowed on the furniture! Take a gander (we didn’t ask about geese) at Swept Away’s policies and call for reservations.

Pet-friendly policies vary from one accommodation to the other. We recommend a chat with reservation staff when booking your travel to get the skinny about fees, size and breed restrictions as well as general rules and limitations. If this is Spot’s first time enjoying the creature comforts of a hotel, cottage, campground or inn, it can’t hurt to breeze through some basic pet etiquette while staying in shared spaces.

Planning a pet-free excursion while on the Island? Most accommodations can recommend a local pet daycare or kennel service to keep your furry friends safe and happy while you take in the Island life!

PEI’s accommodations providers understand your service animal is not a pet. If you have a service animal, speak with reservations staff at the time of your booking about special accommodations.
