Top 10 Bird’s Eye Views of PEI

There is something magical about seeing PEI from the air, even before you step off the plane at the Charlottetown Airport. With a bird’s eye view, tilled farmers’ fields resemble a patchwork quilt and pristine sandy beaches seem as if they could go on forever. Here are our top 10 views of Prince Edward Island from above.

1. Imagine yourself cruising this seaside road on Robinson’s Island with the top down and the wind in your hair.

2. Take a stroll on miles of white sandy beach glimmering in autumn sun at the Cavendish Sandspit.

3. Nestled between these beautiful fields, New London Bay produces PEI’s famous Malpeque oysters.

4. With 1,200 lobster fishermen from coast to coast, Prince Edward Island is the best place to dig into a feed this summer.

5. Park your car and follow the path to the Covehead Lighthouse. The secluded white sand beach on the other side will make you wish you could stay forever.

6. Our lighthouses have some of the best views, like the New London Lighthouse along the North Shore.

7. This fish shaped Island looks like a secluded paradise.

8. The L. M. Montgomery Seashore is a magnificent piece of land with red cliffs and rolling farm fields. It is the last undeveloped, beautiful piece of Prince Edward Island’s shoreline.

9. Hop aboard Northumberland Ferries Ltd, where you can lounge on the viewing decks and enjoy the sea-salt air as you soak in some rays.

10. With so many incredible views to take in, flying to Prince Edward Island is half the fun! Photographer Stephen DesRoches took this photo at the window seat of a Cessna 172 Skyhawk.
