A Little Piece of the Island

With so many beautiful items being made right here on PEI, giving the gift of the Island has never been easier. Even if you ‘come from away’ you can still make sure your friends and family find a little piece of the Island under the tree! To help you find the perfect thing for everyone on your list, we’ve compiled a guide to our favourite gift ideas. Because after all, t’is the season for making lists….and checking them twice!

Tea & Preserves from PEI Preserve Company

A gift from the Preserve Company is the perfect accompaniment for relaxing around a cozy fireplace. They have everything from tea, shortbreads, preserves, and even cranberry sauce (if you’re looking for that special something to bring to Christmas dinner). Shop online here.

Insider’s Tip: This year, you can order one of their famous raspberry pies (usually reserved for summer days in New Glasgow!) and enjoy it over the holidays. Order here by December 19!

Sweets from COWS & Anne of Green Gables Chocolates

No one can say no to a gift that includes premium quality chocolate. Pick up a box of Avonlea Chocolates and maybe even an extra bag of the ever-popular COWS Chips for yourself!  You can stop into the Anne of Green Gables old fashioned shop in Charlottetown, or shop online here.

Wind Chime from Island Winds

If you’re looking for a unique gift for that hard to shop for person, a wind chime might be just the thing! Handmade in rural PEI, these wind chimes are designed to recreate the soothing sounds of Prince Edward Island. There are 8 different wind chime tunes to choose from that vary from sounds that are mellow and meditative like waves lapping on the beach, or the rich tome of distant church bells. Shop all the different options here.

Festive Cups from Village Pottery

Forgot to stock up on gifts while you were here last summer? Never fear, Village Pottery has a huge assortment of pottery available for shipping. This shop is truly a family affair as each piece is handcrafted with love by the Scott family. With their unique colour combinations and pottery jewelry, these potters are making waves across the Island! Shop online here.

Handmade Serving Board from Cattails Woodworking

Island woodworker Brenda Watts sells her wares via the online store Etsy. Her serving boards will make coffee cakes, donuts or even just Saturday morning muffins feel special. With a selection of beautiful yet practical pieces, you’re sure to win over your loved one with any of her items. Shop online here.

Tickets to the Theatre

Tickets to attend a fun event together is the ultimate in thoughtful gifts. Check out the full schedule of events for both The Mack, and the Homburg Theatre at the Confederation Centre of the Arts here.

Insider’s Tip: Mavor’s restaurant, located inside Confederation Centre, is the perfect place to cap off the night. You’ll make them smile by having the night planned out ahead of time!
