Get stuck in a groove

Get into the fall groove with a little live music! The Island is full of talented artists and songs waiting to be sung, and this is the season to join in. The Confederation Centre’s LIVE! @ The Centre‘s fall line-up is busy with act upon act. Or you could wine and dine with the tunes of your choice at the Trailside Music Hall. And of course, a Ross Family Ceilidh is an evening of music like you’ve never experienced. If you’ve never been to a Ceilidh, this is a great place to start, and if you have, you know this is a great party! Until October 17, this family act takes the stage at Clinton Hills and The Guild for nights of music and fun that you’ll be reeling about for days.

Get to know Mother Nature

‘Tis the season for awe-inspiring colours, crisp autumn breezes, and a rekindling of your love of nature. Deep golds, bright oranges, and vibrant reds make PEI pop with colour around every corner! Explore the paths less travelled and the beauty of the Island’s most colourful months by hiking the trails at Robinson’s Island, Roma at Three Rivers, or the Black March Trail in North Cape. Bike through the Mark Arendz Park at Brookvale or on the Confederation Trail across the Island. Or paddle down the tranquil Bonshaw River or along the coast of Victoria by the Sea with By the Sea Kayaking.

Savour the Island

Much of PEI’s produce is harvested between August and October so by the time fall rolls around, the Island is absolutely bursting with locally grown and produced goodness! Discover just how delicious this fall bounty can be by taking part in the Fall Flavours events happening across the Island.

With a mixture of all new events and the return of beloved events like Farm Day in the City watch Island creativity and delicious home-grown goods be transformed into mouthwatering meals at some of PEI’s best parties of the year.

Explore the red dirt roads

One of the best ways to embrace the changing seasons is to hop in your car and drive down one of the Island’s unique winding roads. You’ll want to be sure that while cruising down the twists and turns you drive a little slower to take it all in. Try one of the PEI’s coastal drives or any one of our many red dirt roads for the ultimate photo op. An above par season 

The golf season is far from over, and in fact, a fall game may be the best time to play! PEI golfers are taking full advantage of yet another season of spectacular weather. Mill River, Brudenell, and the Links at Crowbush are some of the Island’s finest courses and their fairways remain wide open for you to sneak in a round or few. Why not make the most of the season while we have it?

The spooky side of history

Have you ever wondered about the all-too-real and unnerving past of historic Charlottetown? Gather your nerves and head out on a Charlottetown Ghost Walk. This 75 minute stroll through the streets of PEI’s capital reveals the spooky stories of Charlottetown’s haunted past. Led each Friday by a mysterious grave digger, this is a great way to get outside, learn about Charlottetown, and most importantly, get in the Halloween spirit.

Pick, pick, pickin’

Is it really Fall if you’re not daydreaming about ambling through an apple orchard or strolling around a pumpkin patch on a crisp ad sunny day? It sure isn’t! Whether you’re seeking out a gorgeous backdrop for some new photos, or gathering supplies for all the season’s pies you’ll bake, there’s just something about being outside in the gorgeous sunshine, spending time with family and friends, and the smell of warm apple cider everywhere you go that makes this the fall activity we can’t bear to miss. Wander through Arlington, Wintermoor, MacPhee’s, Red Shore Orchards, or Olde Towne Orchard for some crisp, ripe apples, or head to Compton’s, Diana’s Pumpkin Patch, Toad Hill, or Pater’s Pumpkins to get your fill.

Scarecrows in the City

Back again for another year is this fall festival of fun – Scarecrows in the City! From September 29th to October 22nd, the city comes alive with hundreds of fun and quirky scarecrows decorating the downtown core. Psychic readings, live music, family fun, horse & carriage rides, stilt walkers, and ghost tours abound!

Live like Anne

What could be more idyllic than experiencing the season as Anne herself would? Step back in time on one of Matthew’s carriage rides and experience the wonder of the Island’s beauty as you venture through the land of Anne. Enjoy a private tour past the stunning gardens, the sparkling Lake of Shining Waters, down country roads and by pastoral fields as you take in the autumn colours and crisp fall breeze. This is PEI bliss! Each carriage ride can accommodate up to four people as you venture through the quaint countryside that Lucy Maud Montgomery so aptly described in her books.

Time for a fright

If you’re a fan of Halloween, there’s nothing you love more than embracing all things haunted. Get thoroughly spooked this year by heading to the Cavendish Beach Adventure Zone for The Route 6 Motel Haunted Experience, crowned the, ‘Scariest haunted house in Atlantic Canada.” As the story goes, what was once a cozy motel in Cavendish was abandoned for years due to… well…  its final and scariest guests. A weekend visit to the Route 6 Motel isn’t exactly the relaxing stop it once was. Fall is the season to take advantage of the spooks coming out to play… do you think you can make it through?

There’s no end to the fun, beauty, and adventure that can be found on Prince Edward Island during the Fall months. Just the smell of the autumn air awakens a sense of adventure in anyone on the Island during this change of season! Make the most out of the great weather and stunning surroundings and use this time to explore, taste, smell, and of course LOVE all things PEI.
