Coastal Drives

An Ode to PEI’s Natural Beauty

Prince Edward Island has so many positive attributes, and its natural beauty tops them all. Parks Canada works hard to protect terrestrial natural regions across Canada, including PEI. In honour of all the hard work they do, here is our tribute to the stunning vistas of PEI’s National Park.

Prince Edward Island National Park is the spot to enjoy life at a dreamier pace, to get away from the everyday to a place where the land reaches out toward the horizon and the ocean blends seamlessly into the dusty blue sky.

The beaches here are incredibly special with their shifting dunes, rare birds and soft sand. It’s no surprise that Island beaches are adored by locals and visitors alike. While adventuring along the Points East Coastal Drive you’ll find over 50 phenomenal beaches, including the much loved Greenwich Beach .

Maybe you’re part fish and truly can’t survive another moment away from the sea.

But it’s not all about the beaches. Greens of every shade and texture cover the rolling landscape in a velvety blanket of lush plants. Pops of colour reveal flowers and plants that thrive throughout these protected areas.

The salty Island breeze licks across your skin and the sun bathes the red earth in golden light. A day spent in PEI National Park feels like a trip through a painting.

Get your daily dose of nature along dozens of kilometres of paved paths and rugged trails that bring you up close to plants and wildlife.

Where else can you enjoy world class golfing at a National Historic Site? Swing away on the fairways of Green Gables Golf Club or explore Anne Shirley’s own Green Gables and Lucy Maud Montgomery’s childhood home.

As an Island day gives way to night, a vivid sunset performs its magic, revealing vibrant colours across the sky and sand.

If you’re very, very lucky and the sky is just right, you can view the Aurora Borealis from the North Shore at night.

But there’s no need to squeeze it all into one day. Taking your time is what this place is all about. PEI National Park has you covered with accommodations of every style from camping to glamping.

Or spend your summer nights in luxury at Dalvay by the Sea with it’s own rich history to explore.

The more you see and do, the more reasons you’ll find to return!
