A Fun and Festive PEI Fall

Welcome to another beautiful change of seasons in PEI! As the Island shifts from the vibrant blues and greens of summertime to stunning golds, reds, and oranges of autumn, we get a front row seat to watch the magic happen. But what’s even better than kicking back as the season changes is joining in on the fun and festivities of fall on PEI! All season long you’ll find Islanders celebrating the bounty of autumn. So, grab a sweater and get ready for some fun!

Moonlight Bazaar

Happening September 28th, the Moonlight Bazaar on Victorian Row promises a night of music, food, and art under the light of the (inflatable) full moon! The best part? It’s completely free to attend.

Farm Day in the City

Farm Day in the City may just be one of the best days of the year. On October 6st, downtown Charlottetown transforms from its normal hustle and bustle to a fall-flavoured oasis. This event feels like a true sign the season has changed as farmers, artisans, musicians, and food vendors line the streets during the Island’s largest outdoor market and street festival of the year! This is the perfect day to celebrate the season and buy local as you wander through the heart of the city with a cup of warm cider in hand! Did we mention the petting zoo?

PEI Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest

Mark your calendars and get ready to cheers because Oktoberfest is here! October 5th will be a delightful celebration of German food, competitive games, live music, and of course, delicious beers brewed on-site!

Halloween Nights of Fear

What’s Halloween without a good scare? For a thrilling good time this October, gather up your group of ghouls and head to the Haunted Mansion! Test your nerve as you wander through the 1890’s mansion, each twist and turn delivering a new jolt of fright to get your heart pounding. The Haunted Mansion Nights of Fear are full of next-level scares but they turn down the fear for family-friendly tours in the afternoons.

Fall Flavours

Discover just how delicious the autumn harvest can be by taking part in the Fall Flavours events happening tip to tip. This food and drink festival celebrates Canada’s Food Island with authentic events in unique venues, that feature deliciously prepared local ingredients. Find your flavour September 26th – October 12th!

Live Racing at Red Shores

The thrill of race night on a cool autumn evening is an Island experience you won’t soon forget. Take in a harness race from the Top of the Park at Red Shores Charlottetown or kick back for race night at the West End Bar & Grill at Red Shores Summerside.

PEI Marathon

Ok. Close your eyes. Imagine running down the dreamiest stretch of smooth road, between dunes and alongside charming harbours and sweet little villages. As you run you can feel the fresh autumn breeze through your fingers and the sound of the sea rolling against the shore is so close you can smell the ocean in the air. Open your eyes. This is not a dream. This is the PEI Marathon! If a full or half marathon feels like a world away, no sweat – the 5k and 10k runs and walks are approachable, do-able and totally scenic! Walking and running events take place in the Central Coastal Drive region from October 18th-20th.

The Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival

There will be so much fall fun to be had at the Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival! With creative scarecrows decking out the city streets, spooky ghost tours, live music, festive markets, a block party and much more, this month long festival cannot be missed. Happening all October long.
