Insider’s Tip

Halloween Nights of Fear is a must see spooky event. Just one question… How brave are you?

A mansion sits atop a hill overlooking the town of Kensington, Prince Edward Island just daring the brave tourists passing by to take a closer look.

The elaborate Tudor-style mansion is surrounded by beautiful gardens, paths and water features, but don’t let the serene setting fool you – the mansion has long been known to be haunted!

According to local legend, a wealthy Englishman by the name of Dr. Jack settled in Kensington in the late 1890s and built the estate to mimic those of his native London. It is thought that Dr. Jack used the mansion as an inn, attracting many guests. Some were never heard from again, while another is said to be the notorious Lizzie Borden!

Nowadays, the Haunted Mansion is a fun-filled attraction suited for the young and young at heart. Open mid-June through early September, the Haunted Mansion is a must-see for anyone with an adventurous spirit. Open select dates in October for the Halloween – Nights of Fear when all of the ghouls come out of hiding to spook the guests!

Touring the mansion is a heart-pounding experience as startling surprises pop out of the woodwork and have you screaming in fright. Our Island Insiders love the spinning vortex hallway that always leaves them feeling weak in the knees!

Bypass options to lighter rooms are available for the faint of heart, making the Haunted Mansion an enjoyable experience for the scaredy-cats to the bravest members of your family or group.

Outside, you’ll be greeted by meticulously-tended gardens and water features – the perfect backdrop for family photos. All of this adds up to hours of entertainment for the whole family for a price even Lizzie Borden could afford.
