A Family’s Guide to Charlottetown

Charlottetown may be small, but it’s jam-packed with fun activities for families to enjoy. From scavenger hunts to splash pads, arcades and trampoline parks, there are so many choices for families to enjoy. We’ve made a list to get you started so you can go make some summer memories to last a lifetime!

Go on a Mouse Hunt!

Embark on an exciting adventure with your family in Downtown Charlottetown! Follow the clues to find Eckhart the Mouse, who is hiding all over the city in the form of tiny bronze statues. The Eckhart in the City Scavenger Hunt is based on the beloved character from the book The True Meaning of Crumbfest, written by local author David Weale. Explore the cobblestone streets of Charlottetown as you use clues to find all nine bronze Eckhart’s.

Fun & Games

How does arcade games, bocce ball and a game of pool sound? Pretty darn good we’d say! Check out Ponyboat Social Club with TONS of fun activities for all ages. Take a peek at their menu for some good eats, tasty treats and over-the-top milkshakes!

Hop aboard an original lobster fishing boat with Peakes Wharf Boat Tours and get ready for an adventure on the sea. Experience lobster fishing firsthand, or spend an afternoon seal watching. Admire Charlottetown from a unique perspective and make some cherished memories. The captain may even sing you a tune!

Outdoor Theatre

Get ready to be blown away by the lively and colorful performances located at the Outdoor Ampitheature, just outside of the Confederation Centre! Watch an all-Islander cast bring the stories of Robert Munsch to life in Munschables, or embrace the rich history of the Mi’kmaq people through song, stories, and traditional dance in Mi’kmaq Stories of Rabbit and His Friends.

Oh, and the absolute BEST part? These noon-hour shows are completely free, so you can bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun and entertainment without spending a dime!
