1. Discover the magic of Sommo Festival
Sommo Festival returns to Cavendish September 13–14, blending the best of live music and culinary experiences on PEI’s north shore. With Hozier and Alanis Morissette headlining and celebrity chefs taking the stage, it’s a coastal celebration you won’t want to miss. Tickets are still on sale if you want to join in on the fun!
2. Shell-ebrate culinary delights
The PEI International Shellfish Festival is the perfect place to experience Island culture and chow down on some mouthwatering shellfish. The weekend has it all—oyster shucking competitions, copious amounts of Island quahogs, mussels, oysters, lobster, and more, plus Atlantic Canada’s biggest kitchen party! September 18-21, 2025.
3. Get on the green
Island golfer’s know that September is the perfect time to golf on PEI. Perfect temps and a slower pace make for a relaxing and invigorating game, and many of the Island’s courses are open deep into the fall!

4. Terry Fox Run on Confederation Bridge
Ever wondered what it’s like to walk across the Confederation Bridge? On September 21, you can! The Terry Fox Run is celebrating its 45th anniversary by giving Islanders and visitors a rare chance to run, walk, or stroll the 13-kilometre span (or whatever distance suits you). Registration closes Thursday, September 18th, so make sure to register so you don’t miss out!
5. Bask in the glow of the Moon
Moonlight Bazaar is back on September 27, turning Victoria Row into one big street party under the glow of a giant inflatable Moon! Expect live music, food, art, and performances in a creative, electric atmosphere—and the best part? It’s totally free to attend!
6. Watch a movie under the stars
Pack up the car and settle in for a double feature at the Brackley Drive-in! This 1950s themed drive-in is decked out with neon, has two screens, and a full service canteen. Date night, perfected.
7. Discover Indigenous Flavour
Fall Flavours Food and Drink Festival is bringing two Indigenous-led events you won’t want to miss. On September 25, A Mi’kmaq Coastal Feast brings tasting stations and tradition to Blockhouse Lighthouse. On September 26, Megapaji: To Eat in Abundance serves up open-fire seafood and storytelling for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. 8. Go on a Lobster Crawl
Get ready to celebrate Island lobster in a big way! The Legendary PEI Lobster Crawl showcases Island restaurants, markets, tours and events to give you the ultimate lobster experience.
9. Visit some of the Island’s lighthouses
If lighthouses are your thing, you’ll be delighted to know that PEI is home to over sixty of them! Some lighthouses are even open to the public to explore. Sounds like a great adventure to us.
