The Best Way to Begin and End Your Day on PEI
Whether you live in the city, mountains, prairies or even an island, they all have one thing in common: the day begins and ends the same. Prince Edward Island has some out of this world sunrises and sunsets, but you really need to see it for yourself. Here is a little inspiration to get you started on planning your beginning or end of day adventures on Prince Edward Island!
Sunrise at Cape Bear
Chasing sunrises can be a challenge. Not arriving in time to capture the perfect moment happens from time to time. Cape Bear is approximately 15 minutes from Wood Islands and when the sun rises over the water it will completely take your breath away! Make this a must see in any season.
Sunset at Thunder Cove
Summer camping is abundant on PEI but Twin Shores Campground, just north of Kensington, has one of the best coastlines around and if you take a stroll down the beach you will find incredible rock formations. Who couldn’t get their zen on with views like this?!
Sunrise at Nine Mile Creek
Picture it, a late February morning, it’s chilly and a little windy, you head out from home while the sun is still tucked under the horizon. You land at your location just as the sky is starting to turn pink and you start to make your morning coffee, outside, in winter, at the edge of the ocean! You can too in Nine Mile Creek, just a short drive from Cornwall.
Sunset at Brighton
When you live in downtown Charlottetown there are many options for taking in an evening sunset. One spot that is almost idyllic is the Brighton Lighthouse. At the end of a dead-end road, close to Victoria Park, you will find this amazing gem. Who wouldn’t want to sit on the edge of a lighthouse to watch the sun set?
Sunrise or Sunset from the Middle of the Ocean
Have you ever watched the sunset from the middle of the ocean? You can do just that by booking a deep sea fishing tour with Ernie’s Charter Fishing or MacNeill’s Tuna and Deep-Sea Fishing Charters. If fishing isn’t your thing you could enjoy the sunset from your kayak! How amazing to paddle out in to the water as the sun is kissing the horizon? Plan your summer kayaking adventure with By the Sea Kayaking.
Sunset at West Point
Believe it when you hear that West Point is worth the drive whether you call PEI home or you’re only visiting. What’s even more exciting, you can actually sleep in a lighthouse! Take a stroll along the boardwalk or dip your toes in the ocean, you can do both all while watching the sun set on another day on beautiful Prince Edward Island.
