Panmure Island Lighthouse

Panmure Island Lighthouse was built in 1853 and is the second lighthouse constructed on Prince Edward Island. It was the first built of wood, and its octagonal design later became common among many of the Island’s lighthouses.

Located where the Montague, Cardigan, and Brudenell rivers meet, the lighthouse has guided vessels into Cardigan Bay for more than 170 years.

Today, visitors can stop in to browse a small gift shop and explore a museum of lighthouse and maritime artifacts on the upper floors.
