Setting The Stage
The sun is shining, the waves are crashing, and the sound of music fills the air. This can only mean one thing – the Cavendish Beach Music Festival is in full swing. Each summer, this PEI staple event takes over the shores of Prince Edward Island, bringing together music lovers from far and wide for a celebration of music, culture, and community.
This multi-day outdoor festival in the heart of Cavendish draws tens of thousands of fans and the biggest names in country music and beyond and in 2023 they decided to build on the tremendous triumph of the Cavendish Beach Music Festival and introduce a brand new festival to the scene: Sommo Festival, a two-day music and culinary festival unlike any other in Canada.
The festival organizers outdo themselves year after year, and this year is no exception. Brothers Osborne, Tyler Childers, and Zac Brown Band are scheduled to hit the CBMF stage July 5-7, and Noah Kahan and Greta Van Fleet are headlining the second annual Sommo Festival September 13-14.
Calling All Music and Food Lovers
Fans will experience a truly unforgettable celebration of music and food at SOMMO Festival, with multiple stages featuring performances from acclaimed artists from Canada and around the world. The Main Stage will host an impressive lineup including Noah Kahan and Greta Van Fleet, with more announcements coming soon.
What makes this festival truly unique is the culinary experience it offers. Festival goers will have the chance to partake in live food demonstrations and meet culinary luminaries, like last years guest, Top-Chef Judge Gail Simmons. With a diverse selection of delectable dishes from regional restaurants, breweries, wineries, and more, there is something for everyone to savour and enjoy!

Along with large concerts, Whitecap Entertainment works closely with local organizations to create engaging events that promote PEI’s arts and culture scene. From captivating drag events, hilarious comedy shows, intimate acoustic concerts with local artists or energetic dance parties, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the highlights of the year is the PEI Beer Festival – a celebration of beers and cider from local breweries and beyond. Beer enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of brews, ciders and coolers while learning about crafting and brewing. Live music and local food pairings guarantee a great time for all.
