Plan Your VisitPEI Beaches

Stanhope Beach

Stanhope Beach is located within PEI National Park, just 23 km from Charlottetown. It’s a quieter alternative to nearby Brackley and Cavendish, with wide dunes and plenty of room to roam.

From here, you can walk 3 km toward Stanhope Cape or 2 km in the other direction to Dalvay By the Sea, a favourite stretch for long shoreline walks.

As part of the National Park, Stanhope is a protected area. The beach is a nesting habitat for the endangered Piping Plover. The dunes are also fragile and play an important role in preventing coastal erosion. Marram grass helps hold them in place, and ongoing efforts protect this delicate landscape. Please stay on designated paths and boardwalks.

A valid Parks Canada pass or daily admission fee is required.
