Panmure Island Beach

Panmure Island Beach is a long stretch of white sand framed by sweeping dunes and wide-open ocean views — a favourite for both locals and visitors.

Reached by causeway, the beach offers water access on both sides of the road. On one side, you’ll find the sheltered waters of St. Mary’s Bay. On the other, the open Northumberland Strait.

As part of Panmure Island Provincial Park, the beach includes showers, washrooms, and a seasonal convenience store, making it easy to spend the whole day.

Next door stands the iconic Panmure Island Lighthouse. Built in 1853, it’s the oldest wooden lighthouse on PEI and has guided vessels into Georgetown and Montague harbours for more than 170 years.
