Chelton Beach Provincial Park
Chelton Beach is located near the community of Bedeque along the red shores of southwest PEI.
On site, you’ll find parking, picnic tables, washrooms, a small canteen, a playground, and lifeguards on duty during the summer season.
Like other South Shore beaches, the sand here is bright red and a little more pebbly than the fine sand found on the North Shore. Dunes frame the beach, and the warmer waters of the Northumberland Strait are full of sea life. Low tide is the best time to explore the flats and tidal pools. Don't forget to keep an eye out for crabs underfoot.
The sand is often damp after high tide, so a beach chair comes in handy. Locals love Chelton for its warm water, views of the Confederation Bridge, and laid-back feel.
