Plan Your VisitPEI Beaches

Cavendish Beach, PEI National Park

Cavendish Beach is PEI’s best-known stretch of sand — miles of white-gold shoreline framed by rolling dunes.

Located in the heart of Cavendish within PEI National Park, it’s an easy addition to any family beach day. Walking trails weave through the park, and seasonal interpretive programs highlight beach ecology, wildlife, and even the art of building the perfect sandcastle.

The dunes here are protected and fragile, with foot and bicycle traffic limited to designated paths and boardwalks. North Shore beaches are also important nesting areas for endangered birds like the Piping Plover, so dogs are not permitted on the beach.

A valid Parks Canada pass or daily admission fee is required to visit.
