Skinners Pond Beach
Skinners Pond sits along a small fishing harbour in western PEI with deep roots in the Island’s coastal life.
The area was once a busy hub for Irish moss harvesting. During its peak years, boats, tractors, and crews worked the shoreline gathering moss used around the world for food and medicine. Today, the harbour moves at a slower pace, with fishing boats coming and going through the season.
Skinners Pond is also known as the hometown of Stompin’ Tom Connors. The nearby Stompin’ Tom Centre celebrates the legendary Canadian songwriter and the stories he shared through music.
Visitors often stop here for a quiet walk along the red sand beach or to watch the boats in the harbour.
