Family Fun Fair

Old Home Week

Locals, tourists and harness racing fans alike can unite from August 9-18, 2018, in an explosion of food, fun, and family-orientated entertainment at Prince Edward Island’s largest agricultural fair running for 130-years, Old Home Week.

Charlottetown first celebrated Old Home Week in 1888, and it lasted only two days. Now expect over a week of non-stop fun for all ages, while shining the spotlight on the bounty of P.E.I.’s agricultural sector.

Relax and enjoy agricultural livestock shows, take a turn on the variety of thrilling midway rides, feel the rhythm of musicians, singers, fiddlers and dancers, and clap along with entertainers and storytellers.

Don’t forget to visit the 4-H interactive displays and the always popular Women’s Institute exhibits!

Looking for one-of-a-kind treasures you simply won’t find anywhere else? Weave your way around the many diverse stalls at the marketplace, while savouring the delicious aromas pumped into the air by renowned chefs.

Learn about the work ethic and skills of the farming community on P.E.I. – hard work and a labour of love are at the root of industry success.

Old Home Week concludes with the Gold Cup and Saucer Race – one of Canada’s premier harness racing events. This is a quintessential Island experience that results in nine days of competition and unforgettable pageantry with world class horses and drivers.

Stuff a waterproof poncho in your bag because this fun-filled festival runs rain or shine.
