1. Celebrate the Island’s music industry

5. Plan a winter stay at Mill River
Not ready to give up on winter? Head west. At Mill River Resort, you can spend the day on the tubing hill, walk snowy trails, warm up in the Aquaplex, or settle in by a bonfire at night.
Overnight guests have access to equipment rentals, and day passes are available if you’re just popping in.
6. Spend an afternoon at a museum or gallery
The Confederation Centre Art Gallery in Charlottetown presents rotating exhibitions of historic and contemporary Canadian art, from painting and photography to sculpture and large-scale installations. Free family admission is offered on Sundays.
In Summerside, Eptek Art & Culture Centre features changing exhibits focused on Island art, craft, history, and culture. In winter, it also hosts film nights, talks, and community events — plus a gift shop filled with Island-made art and local books.
7. Hit the Slopes at Brookvale
Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale is still going strong. Ski or snowboard downhill, head out on cross-country trails, or try snowshoeing and fat biking. There’s a terrain park and sliding hill for the kids, plus rentals and lessons if you’re just getting started.
8. Sip your way through PEI Beer Fest
PEI Beer Fest returns March 20–21 at the Eastlink Centre. Sample beer, cider, and ready-to-drink favourites from producers across Canada, meet the makers, and compare notes with your friends between pours.
9. Warm up at a golf simulator
Fairway season is almost here. Book an hour at one of the Island’s golf simulators and get your swing back before the courses open. It’s a solid way to spend a chilly afternoon.

10. Get outside for a late-winter trail walk
March is made for that “almost spring” feeling. Head to a local trail, bundle up, and go for a walk along the shore or through the woods. You’ll hear more birds, see the snow starting to thin, and maybe even catch the first muddy signs of the season changing.
Sometimes the best plan is just a good walk and a breath of salty air.
