A Spooky and Spectacular PEI Fall

Pumpkin and spice is all well and nice, but when it comes to fall, there’s one very important element: the spook factor. PEI is by no means short of a good ghost story, and it’s the Halloween spirit that really brings out all things eerie and haunted. Whether you want some family fun or a good ol’ scare, these stops are a great time for everyone!

Route 6 Motel

Crowned as the scariest haunted house in Atlantic Canada, the Route 6 Motel is a terrifying experience not to be missed on your fall bucket list. What once started out as a cozy motel in beautiful Cavendish has been abandoned for years due to… well, its newest – and scariest – residents. A visit to the Route 6 Motel isn’t exactly the relaxing stop it once was. Just one step inside will have you trembling in fear and attempting to run free. October is the month to take advantage of the clowns coming out to play… do you think you can make it through?

Haunted Mansion

Whether or not you want to risk going through the Haunted Mansion in Kensington is up to you… but if you make it out on the other side, it’s surely a great story to tell! In the daytime, the Haunted Mansion welcomes one and all for family-fun on the Tilt-a-Whirl and Red Baron rides outside. However, as the sun begins to set, that’s when the scares get ramped up as the ghosts and ghouls start to appear. Every Friday during October, the Haunted Mansion is host to Halloween – Nights of Fear from 6:00-9:00pm… a night you won’t soon forget.

Kool Breeze Haunted Farms

Looking to get outside for some family time? Kool Breeze is welcoming families to their fall inspired fun, full of pumpkin picking, and oversized hay sculptures and pumpkin patches perfect for photo-ops and laughs! But after dark, things get a little less friendly and a whole lot scarier. From 7:00 – 10:00pm on October weekends, the once welcoming and friendly corn maze starts to seem a little different… you may walk in unafraid but before long you’ll be jumping out of your skin and squealing as you try to find your way out! Good luck to you as you brave the Kool Breeze Haunted Farm!

Summerside Ghost Walk

Back again on October 17th, the 19th annual Historic Ghostwalk will be put on by the Wyatt Heritage Properties in Summerside. While this tour is family-friendly and may not make you jump, you can rest assured that the true stories of Halloween and the darker side of Island happenings will certainly give you goosebumps and raise hairs on the back of your neck! As each story is unearthed at different locations along the tour, you will see and hear more and more that will make you uneasy. Bundle up and gather your friends – this historically creepy tour is one for the books.

Spooky Charlottetown Ghost Tour

Have you ever wondered about the all-too-real and unnerving past of Historic Charlottetown? Gather your nerves and head out on the Secrets of Charlottetown – Spooky Charlottetown Ghost Tour. This hour-long stroll reveals the stories of a ghostly soldier, a mixed up execution, a haunted painting, and even more. Led each Tuesday and Thursday by a local, story-telling guide in period dress, this is a great way to get outside, learn about Charlottetown, and most importantly, get in the Halloween spirit.

The Rocky Horror Sing-a-Long

Get ready to do the ‘time warp’ again! Join the spook and spectacular as you glam it up singing along to the Halloween cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, at The College of Piping! On October 25th, you’re invited to take the music into your own hands, get out your fishnets, and belt out those lyrics as you watch Brad and Janet discover what’s inside Frank-n-Furter’s eery mansion. This 19+ singalong event is the ideal way to celebrate some Halloween horror in style!
