West Point Beach is located near the westernmost tip of PEI in the Cedar Dunes Provincial Park. The beach offers miles of deep red sandy beach and subtle dunes that overlook the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait. Shallower water and some protection from wind make this an ideal beach for small kids. West Point is great for exploring the shoreline and looking for sea glass. The black and white striped West Point Lighthouse is a popular spot for photos. Sunsets at this beach are legendary. Some say they’re the best on the Island! This is a supervised beach.
Insider’s Tip: Take a stroll over to the West Point Lighthouse and climb to the top for some stunning 360 degree views!
Where to Find It: Located at the bottom of the Western Cape 107km from the Confederation Bridge. From the Confederation Bridge, take Trans Canada Hwy/PE-1A N to Summerside. Take first exit at the roundabout onto Veteran’s Memorial Hwy/PE-2W. Exit left onto PE-14N and follow signs to Cedar Dunes Provincial Park.
