For 14 days in June, lap up the lush rural surroundings of Prince Edward Island while visiting more than 40 striking community halls to enjoy evenings of music, dance and storytelling, at the PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls, June 11 – 24, 2017.
More than 50 performances will echo through cherished halls –of all shapes and sizes – in the heart of communities across the Island. The award-winning festival not only breathes life into rural landmarks, but also brings together visitors and local folk alike in places many have not yet discovered – down rural roads and along breathtaking coastal drives.
The PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls is a critically acclaimed festival. In 2016, the festival was recognized by Music PEI as “Event of the Year” and “Presenter of the Year”, and has been nominated by the East Coast Music Association for “2017 Event of the Year”. The annual festival that started in PEI nine years ago has proudly influenced the creation of other Festival of Small Halls in Ontario and Australia.
Bring your family and friends and celebrate PEI’s rich Irish, Scottish and Acadian cultures in exceptional acoustic settings. The festival also gives stage to the Island’s wealth of burgeoning talent from singer-songwriters and storytellers, as well as bringing award winning acts to PEI from around the world.
Celebrate the Festival of Small Halls by making it a family day out with a road trip along one of the breathtaking PEI Coastal Drives, which will take you through the heart of many seaside communities.
