Festival of Small Halls
For 2 weeks in June, lap up the lush rural surroundings of Prince Edward Island in more than 40 striking community halls, all while enjoying the hottest in home-grown talent. PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls runs from June 12 – 25, 2016.
Anne of Green Gables – The Musical™ (the world’s longest-running annual musical!) returns to The Charlottetown Festival this year for its 52nd season. Joining the lineup this season to throw a party on stage is Mamma Mia!, performing one of the world’s most popular musicals. Soulpepper’s hit production Spoon River runs at The Mack theatre and in September the English-language musical version of Michel Tremblay’s Belles Soeurs hits the main stage for a 3-week run.
Cavendish Beach Music Festival
Shine up your cowboy boots for the biggest outdoor festival in Atlantic Canada. This year Cavendish Beach Music Festival is stacked with an all star line-up that includes Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney and The Band Perry. Cavendish Beach Music Festival runs from July 8 – 10, 2016.
Old Home Week
Old Home Week is a 10 day long celebration of Prince Edward Island’s agriculture and way of life. With the finest harness racing leading up to the acclaimed Gold Cup and Saucer race, livestock shows and amusement park rides, there’s literally something for everyone. Old Home Week runs from August 11 – 20, 2016.
PEI’s Fall Flavours Festival is home to some of the most unique and intimate food experiences you can find. A month of non stop authentic Island flavours, events hosted by celebrity chefs, and culinary adventures you’ll rarely find anywhere else, this festival is a must for any food lover. Fall Flavours Festival runs from September 2 – October 2, 2016.
PEI International Shellfish Festival
Culinary by day and kitchen party by night, the PEI International Shellfish Festival is an absolute mecca for shellfish lovers. The weekend has it all, from competitions between the world’s best oyster shuckers, to copious amounts of Island quahogs, mussels, oysters, lobster and other culinary delights. The shellfish is served up all day and night alongside Food Network personalities and East Coast entertainment. The festival runs September 15-18, 2016.
